PROFESSOR Dinah Birch, Booker judge and Pro-Vice Chancellor at Liverpool University will be the guest speaker at a meeting of Warrington Literary and Philosophical Society on November 4.
“A grain of Salt: Vision in Tennyson and Ruskin” will compare the visual demensions of the work of Tennyson and Ruskin.
An expert on Victorian literature and a charismatic speaker, Prof Birch has published extensively on writers including Dickens, the Brontes and Tennyson. An enthusiast for the work of Ruskin, she has written two books on that artist and critic – Ruskin’s Myths, and Ruskin on Turner.
The meeting will start at 7.30 at Friar’s Green Independent Methodist Church, Warrington.
