Big Health and Social Care Day

THE free Big Health and Social Care Day event is back at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub on Tuesday November 5.
The day is aimed at promoting health and wellbeing for people with learning disabilities and is being held in partnership with the council, Warrington Speak Up, health services including the Clinical Commissioning Group, and LiveWire.
Organisers will also be taking the opportunity to learn more about the experiences of people living with a learning disability and their carers and service providers are also welcome.
The event will include: have a go activities including Zumba and Yoga, health checks, your chance to say what you think about services, workshop sessions, mini tours of the hub, presentations and a market place providing information.
An area for improvement identified at a previous event is people with learning disabilities accessing leisure and social activities. Holding this year’s event in the neighbourhood hub will enable people with learning disabilities to see the facilities available and how they could access the services.
Cllr Pat Wright, executive board member for health, wellbeing and adult services, said: “I am so pleased that this event is making a welcome return and we can build on the success of previous years.
“This event is all about finding out how we can further improve our services to people with learning disabilities so that they really do meet people’s needs and support them in the best way possible. Speaking with services users, families and providers is really important if we are to continue to make our services fit for purpose.”
It is the third year of the event, which takes place between 10am and 3pm, with registration from 9.30am.
Anyone wishing to attend must book their free place including lunch by ringing Warrington Speak Up on 01925 246 888 or emailing [email protected]
