Fire station plan to go on show

PROPOSALS for a new community fire station at Penketh, Warrington are to be showcased at a special exhibition on Friday, November 1.
The exhibition, organised by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, will take place at The Olive Tree Community Centre, Chapel Road, Penketh between 2pm and 7pm.
It will give people the chance to view the proposed development on land to the south of Widnes Road and chat to the designers.
Cllr John Joyce, chairman of Cheshire Fire Authority, said: “I would encourage people to come along to the exhibition and have a look at what we are proposing and share their views about our plans.”
The building of a new fire station in Penketh is part of a comprehensive plan to improve response times across Cheshire, Halton and Warrington. The plan, which involves the building of up to five new stations, was subject of a widespread public consultation last year.
Another was earmarked for the Lymm area.
