ACTIVITIES ranging from line dancing to painting to Tai Chi were laid on at a special event to celebrate older people in Warrington.
The event, at The Gateway, marked National Older People’s Day and the United Nations International Day of Older Persons.
It was organised by the Older People’s Engagement Group (OPEG) and supported by the borough council.
The Mayor, Cllr Peter Carey, Cllr Pat Wright, executive member for health, wellbeing and adult services and Cllr Kate Hannon, executive member for leisure, community and culture, joined in the celebrations on the day.
Cllr Wright said: “It was great to see people come together to celebrate the older people in our community. As well as trying out something different on the day people were also able to pick up information about the range of support services and community activities available in Warrington.”
