Barn conversion plan approved

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have given the go-ahead for the conversion of a barn into two dwellings – despite an objection from the local parish council.
Members of Rixton-with-Glazebrook Parish Council said the development at Townley Brow Farm, Dam Lane, Rixton will result in a loss of visual amenity.
But members of the borough council’s planning committee decided the change of use would be appropriate in the Green Belt.
They were told the scheme also involved the removal of existing agricultural buildings which would significantly reduce the extend of built development on site and enhance the visual amenity and openness of the Green Belt.
Additional landscaping was proposed which would further enhance the setting. A wildflower meadow would also be provided.
Surrounding fields would remain in agricultural use.
