Esther's canoe challenge

A PUPIL from Warrington’s Sir Thomas Boteler High School has raised about £300 with a sponsored canoe voyage along the Mersey.
Esther Slater travelled six miles in two hours.
For most of her voyage conditions were perfect.
Said Esther: “It was not too hot nor too windy, so it went really well. But at one point it got quite choppy with tidal waves and I was nearly sick.
“Half-way through my back and arms began to ache, but I was determined I was going to finish. My dad came with me in case I fell in, but thankfully I didn’t.
“I completed the challenge in my brother’s kayack. I would like to thank everyone who helped and supported me.”
The money Esther raised is going to her chosen charity, Cure AT/RT Now.
