HOT on the heels of winning a National Arts and Business Award, and recently shortlisted for a Warrington Business Award, The Gallery At Bank Quay House is to present a creative arts festival with a difference.
Launching this Saturday and continuing to August 3, the free festival will offer new creative opportunities for artists and residents alike.
Organised by the curatorial team at Python, the festival is open to everyone and will include artist talks, creative workshops and poetry evenings, plus the first Python Open art exhibition featuring more than 150 artists.
Head curator Emma Kelly said: “Our galleries offer opportunities for artists to showcase their work in relaxing and approachable spaces. Whether you’re a practicing artist, hope to try out a potential new hobby or need some creative inspiration for the summer holidays, Python Festival has plenty to offer.”
The gallery is asking people to attend the opening on Saturday to see works by artists from Warrington and the wider region.
On show at Bank Quay House will be more than 50 artworks including sculpture, painting, illustration and photography.
The winner exhibit will b” announced at 3pm.
Artist Kate Bufton said: ‘I am thrilled to be exhibiting in the festival as there is so much talent in the area this will be a great chance to see it all come together.”
Appleton artist Debbie Budenberg added: “The gallery is a fantastic welcoming space for bringing artists together and this exhibition shows how strong Warrington’s art scene has become”.
