POLICE have released CCTV images of a man who threatened staff with a metal bar during a robbery at a shop in Lymm.
The incident happened at around 8.45pm on Wednesday June 26 at the Costcutter store on Higher lane, and the Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
The offender went into the shop wearing a green face mask covered with a hood, yellow rubber gloves and armed with a metal type bar.
He demanded the woman working to open the till but she refused.
The man then grabbed a bag of coins from the counter and ran out of the store.
The staff member, a 65-year-old woman was not injured.
Detective Constable John Rhodes said: “Although the suspect has concealed his face the CCTV shows he was wearing quite distinctive clothing and I am sure someone will recognise him from these pictures.
“Fortunately the woman was not injured but the man was armed with a metal bar and needs to be caught to ensure he doesn?t terrify anyone else in this way.”
The offender is described as white, 5ft 10in tall of slim build. He had a local Warrington accent and was wearing a grey jumper, red tracksuit bottoms with two white stripes down the side and a white symbol on the front and back. He had a green hooded top underneath with the hood pulled over his head and a dark coloured snood, as well as what appeared to be a home made khaki coloured mask. He was also wearing white trainers, yellow marigold style gloves and was carrying a small baton.
Anyone with any information about the robbery or who recognises the suspect is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 981 of 26 June, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
