Dog seized after killing another dog

A DOG has been seized by police at Warrington after attacking and killing another dog.
The incident took place in the garden of a house in Kingsway South, Latchford.
Police are currently trying to identify the breed of the offending dog.
The animal which was killed in the attack on Saturday afternoon was a Pomeranian.
Chief Inspector Darren Hebden said: “This was a horrendous attack and was clearly very distressing for the owners to witness.
“I am aware of pictures that have been circulated on social media which will undoubtedly cause concern for the community but can I reassure people that we have now seized the offending dog so there is no risk to the general public.
“We will be speaking to the owners in due course and will do all we can to deal with the incident appropriately within the guidelines of the law.”
Extra patrols are operating in the area to talk to concerned residents and address any issues in the area.

  1. These kind of people give responsible dog owners and certain types of dog a bad name. If you have no training program and can’t handle a dog on the leash then don’t take it out until you control it and not the revese. She will probably only get a slap on the wrist from the law for this unfortunatly.

  2. Totally agree. I have a staffy who is well behaved and controlled and wouldn’t hurt anything or anyone. Yet most people are wary or him due to the bad reputation of his breed, due to incidents like this. And due to irresponsible owners.
