A CHARITY gala dinner will mark the 100 day countdown to the Rugby League World Cup and raise money for the legacy fund.
The World Cup Legacy Fund will support future sport and physical activity projects across Warrington, specifically projects that encourage people to take up sport for the first time.
The fund can be accessed by existing community and sport groups, or to help set up new teams or clubs.
The charity dinner will be held on Thursday July 18 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
On the night guests can enjoy a three course meal and there will be some
rugby legends speaking.
Jan Souness, chairman of the local RLWC group, said: “Sport and physical is absolutely vital to ensure a healthy town, and rugby is a fantastic
way to combine fitness with fun. We want to make sure that Warrington’s role in the games leaves a lasting legacy, something for future generations to be proud of and benefit from.
“Bring your friends and colleagues and join us on the night to celebrate your love for the game, be entertained, and do something great for your community.”
