Council offer apprenticeships

WARRINGTON Borough Council will be offering a number of apprenticeships starting from September.
The dozen or more apprenticeships will cover a range of roles, in parks and gardens, vehicle and plant mechanics, in office administration, in finance and accountancy, catering and information technology.
The apprenticeships are open to anybody and the council is especially keen to encourage applications from children in care, care leavers and young people who are currently not in education, employment or training.
Cllr Hitesh Patel, the council’s executive board member for personnel, said: “We’re looking for individuals who are motivated, committed and enthusiastic about undertaking an apprenticeship with the council and developing a career in their chosen area. If that could be you, we’d like to hear from you.
“The apprenticeship will provide you with a wide range of learning and development opportunities, the kind that can really enhance your skills. We’ll expect our apprentices to be committed to undertaking and completing a National Vocational Qualification.
“On successful completion of your apprenticeship we’ll support you in developing your career. You’ll enjoy a competitive benefits package and you’ll be eligible for the same terms and conditions as other Warrington Borough Council employees.
“So take a look at our apprenticeship scheme. It could be the first step on a really successful career ladder.”
Prospective apprentices will be able to complete an online application form by visiting the council’s Apprenticeships web pages at www.warrington.gov.uk/jobs. The closing date for applications will be Wednesday 24 July. Interviews and assessments will take place between Thursday 15 August and Friday 30 August and apprentices will take up their posts in September.
