Lymm parents urged to contact education secretary

CONCERNED parents of pupils at Lymm High School should contact education secretary Michael Gove and tell him what they have been telling their local councillors.
This is the advice from Cllr Ian Marks following the explosion of complaints about the school that has surfaced following the suspension of head teacher Angela Walsh.
Cllr Marks (pictured), chairman of Lymm Parish Council and leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Warrington Borough Council, said: “I have received a great deal of support for my call for an independent review of what has been happening at Lymm High.
“In the past parents would have written to the borough council asking for them to intervene. But since the school became an Academy the Local Education Authority has limited powers.
“Despite this, I am pleased to say the council is working closely with the school to try and stabilise the situation.
“Parents should write to the Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove, because he is now responsible for all academies.
“They should tell him of their quite legitimate worries and what they think should happen now.
“Ministers like to be contacted by both email and by post.
“Everything possible needs to be done to settle the turmoil and restore stability. This is the very least the young people at the School deserve.”
