Speed learning at Collegiate

WARRINGTON Collegiate is hosting Speed Learning taster sessions as part of Adult Learners Week next Friday (May 24).
The workshops aim to introduce visitors to new skills and the adult leisure courses available, including Floristry, Craft, Holistic Therapy, Jewellery Making and Guitar, and will be held at the Museum Street campus from 10am-12noon and 1-3pm.
Clare Young, who manages Community Engagement at Warrington Collegiate, came up with the idea of the speed learning event to attract interest and encourage visitors to try something new.
She said: “Adult Learners’ Week is an opportunity for individuals and organisations to celebrate the benefits of lifelong learning. Whether you’re an individual looking at anything from improving your current job prospects to learning just for fun, or an organisation looking to help support adults with lifelong learning, Adult Learners Week has something for you.
“Our short leisure courses are really popular and this event is an ideal opportunity for students to come along and’ have a go’ before committing themselves to a course. You never know what it could lead to, maybe starting up your own business, discovering a new talent or a finding a new hobby and new friends—it can all happen on our leisure courses!”
Adult Learners’ Week, which starts on May 18, is a national celebration of the benefits of lifelong learning and is the perfect opportunity to explore the many types of learning available to adults from all walks of life.
