Youth attacked and robbed

A 17-year-old youth was attacked and robbed by three men as he walked along a footpath at Warrington.
The incident took place on the footpath of Old Warrington Road, Birchwood at about 4.40pm on Monday (May 13).
Police are appealing for witnesses of the robbery in which the victim lost a leather wallet and contents and suffered swelling to his right ear and jaw.
The youth was walking along the footpath between Lower Farm subway and Kinsale Drive when he was approached by the three offenders.
He was punched twice in the face and knocked to the ground at which stage the offenders demanded his mobile phone and wallet.
One of the men then stole his wallet and all three men ran off. The victim did not require hospital treatment.
The first offender was about 20, of stocky build, about 5ft 10 inches tall and clean shaven. He was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up.
The second man was of mixed race, around 17-years-old, 5ft 8 inches tall and had short dark hair. He was wearing a blue hooded top, which was tied tightly around his face.
A third man was wearing a blue hooded top, which was also tied tightly around his face.
DC Matt Gagen said: “We are currently trying to piece together as much information as we can regarding the robbery and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
“The robbery took place late afternoon when it was still light and we would urge anyone who may have been in that area around that time and has seen anything significant to contact us.”
