CHILDCARE students from Warrington Collegiate raised more than £2,000 for charity by hosting a Hollywood Glamour Ball.
Held at the Village Hotel, the night was in aid of Claire House Hospice, which provides care and support for children and young people with life limiting and life threatening illnesses.
Nic Moston, Lecturer in Childcare at the college, said: “This is an amazing amount. I’m really proud of the students, they have worked so hard all year, planning and promoting the event, selling tickets and contacting companies for fantastic raffle prizes.”
Among those letting their hair down in a good cause were staff and students from Warrington Collegiate with their family and friends, Warrington Wolves player Chris Riley and staff from Claire House Hospice.
Guest, Paula Shipman, from Great Sankey, said: “What an incredible evening for such a fantastic cause. It was just brilliant. I felt honoured to be a part of such a wonderful night.”
Claire House, Children’s Hospice Charity Northwest, provides care to children with life limiting life, threatening illnesses, including respite, end-of-life and bereavement care for children and young adults up to the age of 23. Based on the Wirral, Claire House supports children and their families from Warrington, Cheshire and surrounding areas.
