Young Wire crowned champions

WARRINGTON Town Youth team were crowned league champions following a

3-1 victory over Curzon Ashton at Cantilever Park, to bring down the

curtain on a double winning season.
Following on from retaining the Neil Thomason Cup on Sunday by defeating Morecambe 3-1, Town were crowned Champions of the Northern Alliance after a convincing 3-1 victory over Curzon Ashton.
Dylan Glass broke the deadlock in the first half to make it 1-0 at the break, with fellow striker Chris Bandell making sure with two quick fire goals after the break, with the visitors getting a late consolation.
Mayor of Warrington Cllr Steve Wright, a Warrington Town season ticket holder, was on hand to help celebrate the occasion.
It has been an outstanding season for the young Wire, with eight of the squad gaining valuable first team experience, boding well for the future of the club.
