Pensioner robbed at knifepoint

POLICE are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in Warrington when a pensioner was robbed at knife point on his doorstep.
The incident took place on April 23 at a property in Northway. At around 9.30pm the victim – a 66-year-old man ? answered a knock at the door.
A man ? who was wearing a crash helmet and carrying a pizza box ? asked him if he had ordered a pizza.
The man then produced a large knife and threatened the occupant, demanding cash. The victim handed over his wallet containing cash and personal possessions and the offender fled the scene.
The offender is described as around 6? tall, of stocky build, had a local accent and was wearing a dark coloured crash helmet and visor and a dark coloured leather motorcycle jacket.
DC Simon Fisher, who is investigating the incident, said: “The victim was not injured as a result of the incident but was left extremely shaken by the ordeal. We take any incidents of this nature extremely seriously and will do all we can to trace the offender.
“We are currently carrying out a number of lines of enquiry in relation to the incident – including house-to-house enquiries, CCTV enquiries and any forensic enquiries.
“We are appealing for anyone who has any information, which might assist with our enquiries, to get in touch. We would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened or may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to come forward.
“We would also appeal to anyone who may have seen the offender fleeing the scene to contact us ? it is believed that the offender fled the scene on foot and turned right towards Statham Avenue.”

  1. Unless the robber scum was wearing gloves, why wasnt the race of the robber mentioned? Are you afraid of offending the robber? You put out a BOLO, you could stop just about anybody from the lame description given.
