HOUSEHOLDERS put intruders to flight in two almost identical burglaries at Warrington.
In each case, the householder has heard a noise downstairs at night, gone to investigate – and the burglar has fled.
The first raid was at around 1.20am on April 20 at a property in Newbridge Close.
The offender gain access through a rear patio door and stole a laptop, wallet and an Armani watch. The householder heard a noise, went downstairs – and saw the burglar standing on the driveway before running off.
The laptop and wallet were recovered nearby.
Police say the offender was in his late teens, around 5ft 8 inches tall, of slim build and was wearing a black coat with a hood, a black tracksuit and black trainers.
The second offence was at about 1.05am on April 23 at a property in Saundersfoot Close.
After getting in through the kitchen door, the offender stole an Ipad, Ipod Shuffle, wallet, purse and brown leather handbag.
The occupier heard a noise, went to investigate and put the offender to flight.
DC Nat Lewis, who is investigating the incidents, said: “A number of enquiries are being carried out including house-to-house enquiries, CCTV enquiries and forensic enquiries.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have any information in relation to the burglaries or the identity of the offenders to get in touch. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in these areas around the time of the incidents and may have seen any suspicious activity.
“We are also urging anyone who has any information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen items or anyone who is offered similar items to come forward.”
Anyone with information should con Cheshire Police on 101 or call the confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
