Speakers club annual dinner

WARRINGTON Speakers Club held its 51st annual dinner at Statham Lodge Hotel, Lymm.
The toast, to the club was proposed by Graham McLachlan, national president of the Association of Speakers Clubs. He is a former member of the Warrington club and a former annual speech contest winner. He travelled from Scotland, where he now lives, for the event.
Guest of honour was singer/actress Ann O’Brien, of South Manchester Speakers Club, who was the main speaker.
Club president Fred Jones remembered founder member Keith Patterson, who died aged 84 in December. Former president Keith was proprietor of Patterson’s Garage, Latchford, and was also a member of Warrington Round Table.
