THE annual Lymm Duck Race has been hailed a great success despite the cold weather, raising more than £6,000 for good causes.
Crowds gathered around the village for the annual event organised by Lymm and District Round Table, which this year featured the additional attraction of an Easter Food Fest on Henry Street Car Park. It offered a range of stalls with food to eat on the day or to take home, and proved popular with visitors.
One of the organisers Chris Gorman, of the Round Table, said: “We were very pleased with the success of the food festival in its first year. We are hoping to bring it back again next year.”
The “super duck” competition was won by Cheshire Housing Management and they can now nominate a charity to receive a £1,000 donation.
The “corporate duck” winner, who receives £250 for the charity of their choice, was Vogue.
Chris thanked the Co-op for sponsoring the event, and local businesses, organisations and individuals who sponsored or supported the event.
