Girl injured after collision with bus

An 11-year-old girl was taken to hospital with head injuries after a collision with a bus in Warrington yesterday (Monday).
The incident occurred at 4.55pm close to the junction of Kingsway South and Bridgewater Avenue yesterday, Monday.
Emergency services were called and the girl was taken to Warrington Hospital and kept in overnight, but her injuries are not believed to be serious and she is expected to be released from hospital later today following tests.
A passenger on the bus, a man in his 90s, was also to taken to hospital as a precaution as he fell when the collision happened. He was checked over and had no injuries.
The road was closed Stockton Heath bound at its junction with Bridgewater Road, until shortly before 7pm.
Anyone with information about the incident can call police on 101 with the incident number 679 of March 25.
A spokesman for Network Warrington said: “It is inappropriate at this time to comment regarding the incident on March 25. We are currently assisting with the police investigation and are carrying out our own internal investigations.
“Of course our thoughts at this time are with the child and her family and the company wishes her a speedy recovery.”
