WARRINGTON-based ABB Ltd was national winner of the Green and Growth Award at the EEF (Energy Efficiency Plan) Future Manufacturing Awards.
The power and automated technologies company won the award for its technical ingenuity to persuade customers to adopt energy saving measures. It developed an energy appraisal and savings illustration app that helped customers to reduce their carbon footprint and cut electricity bills.
The company’s plan was developed to reduce the energy used by motors by an average of 20 per cent, challenging market reluctance to try variable-speed drives.
Steve Hughes, UK sales and channel manager, said: “This award is a credit to our business partners and staff and we are delighted to have received it. It is great to be awarded for a process that has led to benefits for our customers, our channel partners and ABB.”
