Book exchange plan

MEMBERS of Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council are to use a traditional, red telephone box to house a book exchange.
The council already sponsors the box, in Thelwall Village, to ensure it is retained as a feature near the old post office building.
They already have a number of donated books to set the scheme in motion and a small bookcase that would fit inside the kiosk so the idea will be given a three-month trial to see if it proves viable.
A similar ‘phone box at Hatton is already used by the local parish council for a book exchange which is well used by villagers.
