FIRE crews were called to two incidents of wheelie bin fires in Warrington last night (Monday).
The first was just after 7.30pm at Worsley Road, Stockton Heath, when two fire engines from Warrington attended following reports that a house was on fire.
On arrival they confirmed that a bin next to the house was well alight. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the bin and dampened down the exterior of the house to ensure the fire had not spread.
The second occurred just after 9.30pm at Linnet Close, Orford, and one fire engine attended. Firefighters extinguished the fire using a water back pack.

  1. With the amount of Wheelie Bin Fires it should be made law that all bins should be taken off the Road Side. Are we a nation of untidy people?

  2. According to Council regulations I thought all wheelie bins were supposed to be kept within the boundary of the property which they served – where that is possible? Does anyone know if that is right and if so what the regulation is?
