PUPILS from Penketh High School will be working on a joint project with a school in Xian, China, on Climate for Classrooms.
The Warrington school has been given a grant to develop international links and spread the word about its work.
The bid was submitted in conjunction with Oakwood Avenue Primary
School and Sir Thomas Boteler CE High, through Connecting Classrooms run by the British Council.
It beat hundreds of applicants to receive funding to facilitate a reciprocal visit to learn and share good practice with its international colleagues.
A school spokesperson said: “The focus of the project is called Climate For Classrooms and we will be working on a variety of activities at Penketh and also in the school in Xian to help make our young people more aware of climate issues and how they can impact upon their environment and reduce their carbon footprint.”
