Takeaway food shop row

1

PLANS for a hot food takeaway shop in London Road, Stockton Heath are being recommended for approval by planning officers – despite opposition from nearby traders and Stockton Heath Parish Council.
The scheme involved conversion of a vacant shop next to the village post office – currently being used on a temporary basis as a gold and silver merchants and pawn shop.
Objections from the parish council are bases on the loss of a retail shop leading to damage to the day time economy of the area.
The parish council also believes the area already has sufficient takeaway food outlets and restaurants and that two more are currently being considered.
Nearby traders are also concerned at the loss a retail outlet and the prospect of increased litter, smells, noise, etc.
They say there are already six food outlets in the row.

  1. It would seem that not content with turning Warrington into an alcohol centre and creating a shopping wilderness, they now want to destroy Stockton Heath by converting the village into an eating centre.

Are there no values any more?
