HARD work and determination not to have too many treats over the festive season paid off for Hayley Carrick, who raised £240 by losing weight for charity to get fit.
Hayley, 37, a volunteer for Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP) managed to loose 12 pounds since October and raise the cash for the charity.
She said: “It was hard to stick to the diet over Christmas when I was with my family.
“Everyone was eating chocolates and cakes, but I managed to just have a small piece of cake and a portion of trifle.”
She is well known at WDP where she has volunteered for 12 years. She helps in the main office with jobs such as laminating, mail shots, spreadsheets and photocopying.
Hayley, who has diabetes and takes tablets for cholesterol, decided to lose weight for health reasons and to feel better in her clothes.
She said: “I feel a lot better now and am going to stick to the diet. I hope to lose another pound each week.”
