A RESIDENT of Bollin Close, Lymm, has won a battle to replace an old garage with a new one, despite objections from a neighbour and a local councillor.
The borough council’s planning committee has approved the retrospective planning application.
A neighbour expressed concern about the accuracy of plans submitted, noted that the new garage was larger and closer to a common boundary than the previous one and claimed it dominated the outlook from her garden and look out of proportion in the space available
Cllr Ian Marks said the structure was “quite dominant” and suggested a smaller garage would have been more appropriate.
But planning officers recommended the application be approved. They said the development preserves the living conditions of neighbours and also the character of the original dwelling and the street scene.
Councillors approved the scheme after visiting the site.
New garage for old approved.
