A TOTAL of £20,000 seized by police as a result of a major investigation into drug dealing in the Warrington area has become available for re-distribution in the local community.
Warrington Voluntary Action is inviting local charitable or voluntary organisations to put forward proposals as to how the money might best be used.
Applicants are being asked to provide an outline case of how they might be able to use the money, ensuring it is directed to where it would provide most benefit.
A spokesperson for Warrington Voluntary Action said: “The criminals involved gained this money from causing significant harm to the community of Warrington and it would be fitting if it could go to a charity or community organisation that is working towards preventing young people becoming involved in serious and organised crime – particular drug supply.”
Organisations interested in putting for proposals for how the money might be used as asked to send outline proposals to [email protected] or post them to Paula Cooper, Warrington Voluntary Action, The Gateway, Sankey Street, Warrington, WA1 1EF.
Closing date for proposals is January 31.
Further information is available from [email protected] or by telephoning 01925 246880.
