School facelift gets under way

REFURBISHMENT works have started at Warrington’s Bewsey Lodge Primary School.
Excited pupils joined the Mayor, Cllr Steve Wright and Cllr Colin Froggatt, the council’s executive member for children and young people’s services, to mark the start of the work with a turf cutting ceremony.
The school’s existing poor quality classrooms are being demolished to make way for new, modern facilities, which the school has long needed.
The school’s grand hall and main entrance will be retained but will be refurbished and greatly improved, which along with the new classrooms will provide new learning and playing environments.
The project, costing £2.8 million, is due to be completed next summer.
