Youngsters will take over youth cafe

WARRINGTON Youth Café is getting involved in the national “Takeover Day” on Friday November 23 – by offering eight young people aged 13-19 the opportunity to run the café for a day.
They will run the youth club sessions, the tuckshop and made decision for the young people who attend the café.
Children’s Commisioner’s Takeover Day gives youngsters the chance to work alongside adults and get involved in decision making.
Cllr Colin Froggatt, the borough council’s executive member for children and young people’s services, said: “This is a fantastic way for young people to experience real jobs in a working environment, and where better to make a difference than in the youth café where you’ll be making decisions that affect you?”
Anyone interested in taking part should ask for an application form from Marta Bober or Jamie Elkalah at Warrington Youth Service on 01925 851029, or pop into the youth café in Bank Street, Warrington and have a chat with one of the youth workers.
The deadline for the applications in Monday November 12.
