SPECIALIST police search teams, including air support and dog patrols are now searching Warrington for a 25-year-old Polish man who has been missing for a week.
Michal Chwesiuk was last seen after leaving work at the Spirit restaurant in Victoria Park at 2.30pm on Friday, November 2.
He was reported missing by friends the following day.
Police say the disappearance is completely out of character for Michal, of Elliott Avenue, Warrington.
They are increasingly concerned for his safety.
Superintendent Martin Cleworth said: “We are extremely concerned for Michal’s welfare as this is completely out of character for him to not be in touch with any friends or family.
“We have numerous resources committed to the search and we are urging anyone who has seen Michal or anyone matching his description to contact us immediately. We are also urging anyone who has any information regarding his current whereabouts to get in touch.”
Today, officers have been out and about on the route Michal normally took home from work.
They were carrying out roadside checks, talking to members of the public and appealing to anyone who was in the area a week ago – on November 2 – and may have seen Michal as he cycled home from work.
His route to and from work includes Elliott Avenue, Manchester Road, Church Street and Farrell Street crossing over a bridge and into Victoria Park.
Michal is described as about 5ft 8 inches tall with black short/shaved hair, of slim build and clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a silver/grey hooded sweatshirt.
He is believed to be on foot or possibly using his bicycle, which is a Silver Claude Butler bicycle.
Police are also appealing to anyone who may have seen a bicycle matching this description to come forward.
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
