Police probe playground blaze

POLICE are investigating a fire at a children’s play area in Warrington today.
The blaze, at Radley Common Community Centre, Grasmere Avenue, Orford involved a small bonfire – and followed a rash over similar fires across the borough over the “Guy Fawkes” weekend.
Firefighters from Warrington extinguished the fire and police appealed for anyone with any information about how it started to call Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
In a separate incident, fire crews were called to an alley at the rear of a property on Orford Lane, Warrington, where a scooter was found ablaze.
A hose reel jet was just to extinguish the fire.
