Major works to start on busy road

MAJOR roadworks will start on one of Warrington’s busiest roads on Tuesday – and are expected to continue for about four weeks.
The work at the junction of Wilderspool Causeway with Lousers Lane is part of a National Grid gas mains renewal project.
Borough council chiefs have issued a warning to motorists and residents and apologised for any inconvenience caused by the essential work goes on.
Temporary traffic lights will be operating to enable the work to be carried out safely.
Signs have been put up at the junction to inform motorists of the work and additional traffic information will be installed when the work is in progress.
The National Grid project started on Knutsford Road in July in co-ordination with the Enviromental Agency flood defence scheme at Victoria Park.
Work has progressed along Knutsford Road and into Wash Lane where they are expected to be completed by the end of this week.
They will then move onto the Latchford/Stockton Heath area on Tuesday.
