Brighter future for town's rough sleepers

A NATIONAL organisation with 17 years experience of helping the homeless has been brought in to take over Warrington’s Rough Sleeper Service.
Brighter Futures will aim to reduce the number of people sleeping on the streets, using a team of specialist outreach workers.
They will find rough sleepers, provide support for them to get a bed in a local hostel, ensure they were able to receive medical attention and access the full range of services in Warrington.
The police, health services and community and faith groups will work in partnership with the organisation.
Their aim will be to reduce rough sleeping and homelessness.
Cllr Pat Wright,(pictured) the borough council’s executive member for health, wellbeing and adult services said: “We know this will make a real difference to the lives of people who are sleeping rough on the streets of Warrington and those who are at risk of being homeless.
“We’re very pleased to be working with Brighter Futures and would urge anyone who needs support, or who knows someone that does, to get in touch.”
Brighter Futures offers a free phone number for people sleeping rough or those at risk of homelessness to access immediate support.
The help line is 0800 014 9344.
