POLICE and fire chiefs are appealing to the public to be vigilant after a spate of arson attacks involving wheelie bins at Warrington.
Fire crews were called to Dutton Court, Howley when two bins, about 20 meters apart, were set alight.
Flames spread to cause damage to nearby houses before crews using hose reel jets extinguished the fires.
Firefighters were also called to Buttermarket Street where two commercial bins were found well alight. Hose reel jets were used to put out the fires.
In both cases, fire experts believed the fires had been started deliberately.
Anyone with information about how the fires started is asked to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
