A BATTLING fight back from being three goals down was not enough as

Warrington Town bowed out of the F.A Cup 3-2 at Conference North outfit

Colwyn Bay.
After a slow start it was the hosts who took the lead on 25 minutes when Danny Lloyd was put through and kept his cool to slot the ball home.
Warrington, who were missing Skipper Peter Dougan through suspension, had their own chances as Kevin Townson and John Miles both failed to convert good opportunities and then five minutes before the break Colwyn Bay again used the long ball for the lively Rob Hopley to score.
The second half had barely started and Bay were three up as they again beat Warrington’s defence with the long ball as Hopley slotted home his second.
The hosts then made the mistake of sitting back and Warrington were eventually back in the game on 75 minutes when Michael Reid was felled in the box and Kevin Townson stepped up to convert the penalty.
Suddenly Warrington looked the better team and when substitute Lee McEvilly headed home in the 90th minute it set up a grandstand finish.
Deep in injury time substitute Ashley Ruane (pictured top) fired towards the top corner only for the keeper to turn it away as the hosts held on to progress to the third qualifying round.
Warrington will be back in action at table topping Skelmersdale United on Tuesday evening, who suffered a shock F.A Cup exit going down 4-1 at lower league Tadcaster Albion.
