Last chance to vote!

ABOUT a quarter of people in Warrington who are eligible to vote have still not yet returned their electoral registration forms.
The council’s elections team is asking people to return their forms promptly during the annual canvass.
Forms were sent out in July to all households in the borough, asking people to officially register all eligible voters and anyone who will soon turn 18.
The information is then used to update the Electoral Register and the new one will be published in October ready for the Police and Crime Commissioner Elections in November. People who are not on the register cannot vote.
People are asked to return the forms quickly to avoid a visit from a council electoral registration canvasser.
If there are no changes to details people can register by using the 24 hour free phone telephone service 0800 025 3148 or text 020 3137 9094 or register online www.register-online.co.uk
The last date to register is Monday October 8.
Electoral services manager Alison McCormick said: “You must, by law, return the form each year, whether you use your vote or not is your choice. Being on the council tax register does not automatically mean that you are on the electoral role.
“The Electoral Register is used by many organisations to confirm an individual’s address, especially if they are applying for a mortgage, credit card, personal loan or even a mobile phone. Not being registered can affect your credit rating.”
