WARRINGTON Town are delighted to announce that six players from the club’s youth team have been selected to represent the Cheshire FA in this season’s county competitions.
Goalkeeper Tony Vaughan, defenders Nick Chambers and Tom Everson, midfielders Dylan Glass, and Matt Cook along with striker James Anderson have all been chosen to play in the opening 4 games of the season.
Cheshire County FA face trips to West Riding, Shropshire and Lincolnshire before hosting Durham at Vauxhall Motors’ Rivacre Park ground.
Warrington Town’s community development officer James Standing said: “It is a great achievement to see 6 of our players in the Cheshire FA side, all of them born and bread in Warrington. It’s a testament to youth team boss Chris Wells and his staff that the club has this many players representing their county.”
Everson, Glass and Cook all played a part in the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North last season while Anderson has already hit a first team goal in his only game for the senior side this season.
Glass scored on his debut last season rescuing a point with a 94th minute strike against Mossley at the Abacus Solicitors’ Community Stadium. He also got a consolation goal as Town went down 5-1 to Lancaster in the final game of the season.
Anderson scored in last weeks 6-1 rout at New Mills as manager Shaun Reid looks to give the young players a chance at senior level.
