Council opens new contact centre

WARRINGTON Borough Council has opened a brand new customer contact centre in Time Square.
Contact Warrington is the latest addition to the hub of community-focused facilities at Time Square including the Market and the Youth Café – and will help deal with an overflow from the existing Contact Warrington in Horsemarket Street, which has seen a 20 per cent increase in walk-ins over the last 12 months.
The new centre was officially opened by deputy leader of the council Mike Hannon and chief executive Professor Steven Broomhead.
It will be open Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm and there are extra self-serve computers for customers to use. A free bus will run from the bus interchange to the market.
The current Contact Warrington centre is still open and will provide the same services.
Cllr Hitesh Patel, the council’s executive member for personnel and communications said: “The brand new contact centre is part of the plan to improve customer access to the council. The centre is face-to-face customer service but it goes hand-in-hand with the online and mobile methods we’re developing and improving all the time.”
