QUEENS Park Rangers football star Anton Ferdinand presented an award to a Warrington man at a glittering ceremony in London.
Nick Antrobus won the Positive Futures Volunteer Contribution Award, at the Positive Futures Awards ceremony which was attended by celebrities and ambassadors including Will Young and Maxi Jazz.
Nick has worked with Positive Futures in Warrington for more than five years, acting as a role model and mentor for children and young people.
The project is a national youth crime prevention programme working with children aged 10-19 who are vulnerable to substance misuse and crime.
Project manager Paul Flannery said: “He thoroughly deserves this award and it is a worthy reward for all of his hard work over the last five years. This award shows the commitment our project puts into its volunteers and the rewards that can be achieved as a result of this.”
Nick said: “I am delighted to receive this award. All the work I have done with the project has been extremely rewarding and the award is not just for myself, but for those involved in the project that have put so much effort into making it one of the best in the country.”
