NHS treatment centre to re-open

AN NHS treatment centre which has “stood idle” for some time is to re-open according to Warrington South MP David Mowat.
The Cheshire and Merseyside Treatment Centre in Halton will reopen in the next few weeks to handle orthopaedic operations for people in Warrington.
Health Minister Simon Burns MP confirmed this during an exchange in the Commons with Mr Mowat (right).
The privately-funded facility, built by the previous government, had been “mothballed” after a decision not to renew the contract with a private company. It will now be operated as part of the Warrington and Halton NHS Trust.
Mr Mowat said: “I have received a number of contacts from constituents who have used this facility in the past and couldn’t understand why it was being allowed to stand idle.
“I am delighted that these issues have now been resolved, that this privately funded facility is now back under NHS control and that it is benefiting the people of Warrington once more.”

  1. About time. It’s been closed long enough. I had a full knee replacement there about 18 months ago and have nothing but praise for all those who dealt with me. I just hope that the NHS lot maintain the high standard that the previous people set.
