Students' fun and games

COLLEGE students from Warrington provided fun and games at the Latchford West Community Fun Day.
Health and Education students from Priestley College challenged children with quizzes, collages and crafts that fitted with the event’s Roman theme.
Health and education tutor Sarah Jones said: “What the students did was very well received and we were busy all day.
“The students represented the college well and it was an excellent event to give them further experience of working within their local community.”
The fun day was held on Causeway Park and was opened by Mayor of Warrington Cllr Steve Wright, who also met with Priestley students.
There was a gladiator battle, falconry, fancy dress competition, dancing and a dog show to entertain the crowds.
On the Priestley stand, children used cardboard and other craft materials to make Roman amulets, soldiers and even Olympic torches.
