INCREASED security measures have been introduced following an attack on a Warrington store, in a bid to protect staff and customers.
Concerned residents contacted Cllr Geoff Settle about the recent attack on the Cinnamon Brow SPAR convenience store. They raised a number of questions and suggestions about security.
He met with the management team of Alfred Jones to review security and see if any new measures had been implemented.
Cllr Settle (pictured) said: “I wanted a chance to pass on the comments, questions and ideas raised by local residents.
“They are very concerned and wanted reassurance that changes will take place to make the shop safer for staff and customers. The staff are well liked, provide a great service and they are an integral part of our community.”
Several changes have already taken place whilst others are being implemented and some are waiting for third party approval.
Cllr Settle said: “I feel much happier now that I have spoken to the security manager. Obviously I can’t go into detail but the measures will make the store less of a target and provide more protection for staff and customers.
“Moving the cash machine, which was the prime target during the last raid, to the outside wall is one very good idea, suggested by Tom the manager and one of his customers.”
