Special education changes planned

CHANGES in the venues for special education in Warrington are planned following public consultation across the town.
Warrington Borough Council will co-locate Green Lane and Fox Wood Schools on the Woolston High School site. This will release the Green Lane building and grounds.
A consultation on relocating Grappenhall Hall School to the Green Lane site will run until April 23.
The Green Lane site is close to both the New Horizons School and the current Woolston High site.
Cllr Colin Froggatt (pictured), the council’s executive member for children and young people, said: “The close proximity of these three schools would allow pupils to share in some of the specialist facilities available across the schools and support shared knowledge, whilst retaining their individual focus.
“We believe the Green Lane site would provide a better, more modern learning environment than pupils currently have in Grappenhall. We really want to hear from pupils, parents, staff and governors as part of the consultation – your opinion matters so please let us know your views.”
Consultation dates for Grappenhall include a governors’ consultation meeting on March 21 and a staff and parents meeting at the school at 3.45pm on March 26. Pupils will also be consulted at school.
