Soccer camp success

WARRINGTON Town Football Club’s community soccer camps have been hailed a “brilliant success” by the club’s community development officer James Standing with plans in the pipeline for more events.
The club hosted a 4 day football fun course at it’s Cantilever Park home on the all weather, 3G training pitches when nearly 40 children aged 4-12 years, came through the doors to learn new skills, meet new friends and enjoy football throughout the half term break.
James, who is sponsored by United Utilities, said: “The week was a brilliant success. All the children really enjoyed being a part of the action and they were made up when the players arrived.”
Adopted club mascot Ollie the Owl from community partner Warrington Disability Partnership was also on hand to give out awards and meet some of the youngsters.
Ollie also showed off his new shirt in the club’s traditional yellow and blue colours.
James added: “We will be running another camp in April which is just £9 per day or £30 for 4 days. This is a bargain for parents and carers alike and the children will be kept safe and well all day.”
The half term soccer schools have all been part of the community club’s sponsorship with locally based United Utilities who together with Warrington Town Football Club, will be working together to bring a healthy lifestyle to local children and schools.
The next soccer school is during the April half term from Monday 2 -Thursday 5 and Tuesday 10 – Friday April 13.
