DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a suspected arson attack at a house in Warrington.
The incident was around 3.40pm on Friday (10 February) when Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a report of a fire inside a house in Ramsay Close.
No-one was inside the property at the time and the fire was quickly extinguished.
DC Rob McLoughlin said: “We are now investigating the circumstances of the fire. We believe it was started deliberately ? possibly being caused by an item being set on fire and put through the letterbox of the property.
“Fortunately nobody was injured but the potential repercussions could have been very serious had the fire not been quickly extinguished. We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, knows who is responsible, or has any information, which might assist with our enquiries, to get in touch.
“We are also keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and has seen anyone acting suspiciously.”
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 525 of 10 February. Information can also be passed on anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
