A suspected arson attack that ripped through a former YMCA hostel in Birchwood, Warrington, is being investigated by police.
Fire crews from Birchwood, Warrington and Stockton Heath attended the former YMCA building at Hamnet Court, Oakwood, yesterday, Sunday at 5.20pm.
Crews were called after witnesses raised the alarm. Two breathing apparatus wearers used two main jets to extinguish the fire.
Police believe the incident was suspicious and are due to visit today to inspect the damage.
The site was previously one-bedroom flats run by the YMCA before it closed several years ago.
