WARRINGTON Town continued their good start to the year as they completed a league double beating Salford City 4-2 at Cantilever Park.
Paul Pritchard returned in goal for the injured Chris Oldfield after 4 months out.
Town lost two players early on with Allan Collins and Chris Thompson withdrawn after 20 minutes through injury. Dale Wright and Rob Hardwick (pictured above) both came on and made an instant impact.
Wright put Town one up with a diving header which bounced back off the post and into his path as he burried the rebound past keeper Danny Jackson. The substitute
then doubled his tally for the day with a bullet header from a corner.
Salford mounted a comeback when former Wire Gavin Salmon pulled a goal back after a defensive blunder by Pritchard and then a minute later Adam Morning made it all square going into half time.
The visitors came out stronger at the start of the second period with Town’s defending leaving alot to be desired, keeper Pritchard pulling off a number of important
saves.
But Warrington finished the satroner as Nick Jackson made it 3-2 with his first ever goal for the club, after a neat lay off from Rob Hardwick.
Town’s only recognised striker left on the pitch, Lee Madin (Pictured above right) then rounded off the scoring for the day with a strong shot into the bottom right hand corner five minutes from time.
