A group of 25 students from Priestley College sat the United Kingdom Maths Trust paper and nine were awarded gold, silver or bronze certificates.
The top performer was Nathan James who landed gold and also qualified for a further competition. He was closely followed by Sam Drinkwater who also obtained gold.
Piotr Szostak, Matt Cummins and Matt Simcock obtained silver and Daniel Hinds, Daniel Spence, Rebekah King and Abygail Davies, landed bronze.
Wendy Brennan, head of Maths at Priestley, said: “It was really encouraging to see 25 students enter this year’s UKMT and to learn that nine of them were successful was very pleasing.
“Maths and Science programmes at Priestley continue to be as popular as ever and we pride ourselves on pushing students to stretch and challenge themselves at events such as this.”
